"Like all artists I want to cheat death a little and contribute something to the next generation."(Dennis Hopper, 1997)
Today actor Hopper died at age 74 in Venice, CA. He probably wouldn't appreciate this, but I always thought his best role was in Easy Rider.

He was a neat actor of "Our Generation" While he lived in Marin, I had met him several times at one of his watering holes....a down to earth generous guy, He was pretty cool in Easy Rider!
Dang, just got in from a night away, away from news, and here I read this, for the first time. You are a newspaper.
Dennis Hopper. Also this week: Art Linkletter and Gary Coleman. Gone, and way too young to boot.
Tancho - He was good at playing the wild and crazy guy, but I always had a feeling the real Dennis was pretty laid back. Nice that you actually got to know him.
Felipe - I don't usually follow celebrity news but something about him seemed so familiar, as though I knew him from somewhere. (You know what they say about the Sixties, if you can remember them, you weren't there.)
Does anyone remember him from that ever so strange movie "Blue Velvet."
I have a vague recollection of Peter Fonda and Denis Hopper in "Easy Rider," but "Blue Velvet" will forever haunt me.
In Blue Velvet, Denis Hopper played the strangest character, ever!
Diary Woman - I do remember that character, a very mentally tortured guy. Perfect role for Hopper. Glad I've never met anybody like that...scary!
He played a good villain (Speed and Water World) so that tells me he was probably a very nice and laid back guy in real life. I only heard about Gary Coleman this morning, and I'd not heard about Art Linkletter, he was one of my mom's favorites. Especially when he would interview the kids.
